Signing up for classes at my college is probably the most stressful part of my life. It’s difficult enough to balance going to school and going to work every week while I fight to find time for my homework. I just finished working my third 7pm-730am shift in a row running off two hours of sleep about an hour ago, and I have class starting in thirty minutes. The edited plan for today is as follows:
- 7:30-8:00 Home to check email and grab nursing textbook
- 9:00 Nursing Class
- 12:00 class over, go to bank to get quarters and then home to do laundry.
Take a NapMeet with academic adviser to discuss class schedule
- 4:00 Shower and get ready
- 6:00 Sign Language
Next Thursday, I leave for Arizona. That means I have tonight and tomorrow night off, then I work three nights in a row and have to stay up Wednesday to spend the day packing and drive to my parents. To make matters worse, tomorrow I have to have my car worked on, which will take up a good portion of my day. This leaves me with Sunday morning to try to go shopping for Arizona. Then I find out I have to fit in a meeting with my adviser before I can sign up for classes?
Can I just say choosing my schedule was a process in itself? To move forward in the nursing program I have to take Anatomy and Physiology. It’s a prerequisite for the rest of the classes I need. Because of work, there’s only one time available I can take it. This overlaps with every other class I can take. I ended up adding in Kickboxing in the morning twice a week just so I had enough credits to be full time. Can’t wait to see what she says about that!
Life is stressful, school is stressful, but I suppose I’ll manage as I always do. But when am I going to do all this overdue homework?
Gosh, I need to get motivated.
